I bought a Belkin wireless router yesterday & so far I have it out of the box- now I'm stumped. I can't find a model number or anything, it just says basic. I have no idea about this stuff & probably should have asked for help at the store to be sure I was buying the correct one.
My problem is this. The setup is supposed to be 3 simple steps. I have wireless internet- the first step is to plug the router into the wall, done. 2nd step- plug router into modem. Ok, problem- I don't have a modem, not external anyway, I have what looks like a phone cord going into the back of my pc & that has another cord going into it that goes into the basement & to the connection outside.
So, do I unplug that from the computer & into the router somehow or do I have the wrong kind of router??
