...charge me $4,500? That is a lot of money, you can buy a used car for that price. I know dealers are expensive, but do you have any suggestions on how I can get the car fixed for cheap?
 
How many miles do you have on it? You might be better off going to an independent and getting a used one put in. In our area, the V6 usually retails for about 12K. Is it worth putting out a third for a bad transmission?
Check your vehicle out with the Blue Book first.
 
buy yourself a transmission and put it in yourself, shouldnt cost you more than a few thousand bucks
 
Look around at other repair places.

But usually i've seen its 1000 to drop, 1000 to fix, and 1000 to install.
