here's the summary of my situation: got married at age 20, lived with my mom for a while with my husband. finally got our own apartment 2 years later, 18 days after signing the lease he says he wants a divorce. we decide to live together for a while but he brings his new girlfriend around and kisses her in front of me. i pay way more than half of rent. i decided to move back to my mom's.
its been 2 months since the breakup. he's still asking for money. i didnt want him to be homeless so i gave him $800 last month, and now $500 a month. the rent is $590 so that's way over half and i dont even live there. he will be nice to me while im paying, but when i said i want to stop paying in january and get on with my life, he called me a selfish bitch. then he said if i stop paying he can bring me to court cuz i signed the lease.
then he wants me to move back in come january. i dont want to cuz i am miserable there, but i dont want him to be homeless. i dont know how to figure this out. i dont think i should have to pay him anything. i may have signed a lease, but ive been paying for almost everyting for 2 years now! can he bring me to court if i dont pay? i dont mind helping, but if he's going to treat me like shit i dont think i should have to.
