Have you made customized pegs for the S40?

I can't seem to find floor boards or larger pegs than the factory installed on my 06 S40. Have any of you had to "customize" your new pegs?

If so, what did you do?

Or, if any of you have and idea where to find some bigger pegs to rest my feet on at the brake and shifter, please let me know.

Its for a 2006 Suzuki S40.

I'm not sure you want to rest your feet on the break and shifter, that could lead to accidental breaking and shifting... just a thought
 
Hey Robert, Kuryakyn.com is one source of aftermarket parts as a manufacturer, they sell direct and thru sources like jcwhitney.com, in their motorcycle dept. I did not research your specific bike, but was able to locate "wings" for my Marauder (kind of a compromise between boards and the stock pegs). I found the research part of the looking kind of a challenge, yet fun. I spent a lot more mentally, just looking at all the bling that is available, than my ultimate purchase. The Kuryakyn site may offer more fitment info on their product application that is really helpful. Once the product pick has been made then you can shop pricing, or availability with the other vendors. Good luck and have fun looking.
 
OK, if you have not found the answer by going to the site that DaveMc has recommended to you then measure the peg slot on your S40 and I will measure the Marauder and maybe luck out. If the slot itself is a fit the angular orientation of the centerline of the slot won't be a problem if you only add wings, as those adaptors as I remember have a round post to attach to.
 
I met a person who has an S40 and was able to find replacement pegs that fit directly into the existing mounts and extended further out then the existing pegs, The ones he used were round. I can try and locate where he got them from he you wish.

I have a 2007 S40 and found that I wanted extra room as well. After driving the bike for some time I decided that I wanted leg extension as well as longer pegs. In order to do this, I opted for the Suzuki stock "Engine Guard" and I purchased a set of Kuryakin pegs and assembly. The Kuryakin assembly that I chose was items - P/N 7985 (Longhorne offset - 1"), P/N - 4419 (Pilot Peg Only no mount), P/N - 8008A (Adjustable peg in Male mount). Any peg of your liking can be chosen out of the Kuryakin listing since going this way, the only item of significance is the "1" clamp for the engine guard. All Kuyakin pegs will work with the Longhorn Offset. You can even chose another Offset of your liking. I chose the Longhorns for there ability to provide greater front leg room while at the same time restricting slightly the extention to the outside of the bike. They look great as well. Remember that most of the pegs will be 4 1/2" or greater in lenght so it doesn't take long to get over 7" of width. The adjustable peg male mount provides the ability to correct for the engine guard angling affect. I mounted my pegs in a way that now provides me with three positions. 1- I can have the heel of my boot on my original Suzuki pegs and the front flat portion of my boot on the footpeg. 2nd, I can have my feet directly on the foot peg. 3rd, I can have the heel of my boot on the top of the peg. This gives me quite a bit of flexibility to move around and adjust to all types of conditions. That's 4 positions including the original stock condition. With this arrangement you fold away the pegs when not in use. Because of the Lonhorne offset, the dynamics of the bike are maintained as the whole assembly remains within the centre line of the bike.
