Have you lost weight by using the elliptical/bike?

I was just wondering if anybody has lost a substantial amount of weight with these machines.
how long did it take? how often did you work out?
 
LOL!!! That's actually a question I've been asking myself for some time now. I use the elliptical quite often. 4 times a week. I haven't lost any substantial weight using it. However, I'm trying to build muscle so I don't usually go over 20 minutes. A couple hundred calories at time. I use it for cardio purposes only. Increase my stamina per se. I would have to say if you use it to lose weight it will probably work. That means using it for 30 or more minutes 5 or more times a week.
 
You can lose weight with those machines but you have to burn a bunch of calories to do it. Try 500 calories at a time. That may be like 30 to 40 min a day. Do it at least 3 days a week and more if you have time. Eat healthy and not overeat.
 
i run a lot...and im just starting spin class actually..its a GREAT workout!

and to loose weight...you need to work out AND eat healthy/diet

ive lost about 10 pounds in the past month
 
They burn 600-700 calories/hr on the fat burn setting--they're the best!

I lost 40 lbs. in 2 months! I did 15 min rowing machine (500 cal/hr) 15-20 elliptical and 15 horizontal bike to tighten up my stomach (doesn't burn much calories) 5 times a week.
