The Troubadour
by. C.S. Scotkin
Historians in future times shall say
That once upon the Great Red Planet, Mars
A Troubadour did write and sing and play
To worlds and poets underneath bright stars.
His words all spoke of gentleness and love
Of family, of joys and sorrows, clear.
He spoke his trust in mercies from above
His words gained strength from all that he held dear.
They'll say that when you walk these rust red dunes.
You'll hear his soft voice when you're feeling blue,
You'll hear him as you're staring at the moons,
There Dondi's songs will come to comfort you.
His legend will cast shadows down the years
His poetry will linger in our ears.
