Have you ever started a business? specifically a staffing agency?

I am in the very early part of writing my business plan with the help of my local SBA and VBOC. I'm trying to start a staffing agency because it it very similar to what I do now (national guard recruiter).

How long did it take you to turn a profit?
Was it hard to get contracts with business's?
......
