have you ever had to appeal your probation or whatever to get financial aid?

when i took running start in high school, more than a year ago, i didn't get very good grades, so i was on academic probation or whatever. so now, i can't get aid so i need to appeal it, and write some kind of letter explaining why i'm appealing. i'm just wondering how it should go, basically my reasons are: i was lazy. and i want them to think that i've changed and i'm more motivated etc...

can someone else who's done this before give me a paragraph or something that sounds good?
 
You need to be candid. You can say something along the lines of, I was still a high school student, my priorities were not as aligned as they should of been. I bit more than I can chew. As an official college student, I am now aware of the importance of my education. I am willing to seek any assistance the moment I find difficulty. Quite frankly, I am more mature than before. etc....
