I engaged a person of faith, based on one of their answers. They posted the following:

Funny how you didn't mention any such "contradictions". I hear people saying that all the time, but not one of them can give me an example. You people are truly pathetic beings.

He was referring to the notion that atheists never provide examples of contradictions in the bible.

I provided a link to the infidels contradiction page and stated that this section was loaded with answers providing bliblical contradictions.

The emailed back saying I posted no contradictions and to "bring any of your so-called "contradictions" to me and I'll be more than happy to set them straight for you."

I replied saying I sent a link to the contradictions, and they might want to check for it. They then said, bewilderingly...that I "made them up", derided the link without explanation, and effectively danced around addressing the contradictions.
Not that they had to, the very fact I presented any contradictions was meat enough.

I'm just wondering if you have ever engaged anyone in email debate...and how did you find the experience? Was it fulfilling? Did you learn anything new? Or did you, like me, start to feel like you were dealing with a cowardly teenaged troll?
So Liz, the person addressed your comments? You sound like one of the lucky ones. There are dozens of contradictions on that page: http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/jim_meritt/bible-contradictions.html I'm sure most of you have seen it before...five would have been nice...oh well. I might just leave the junior campers to themselves.
Yitka, I would have LOVED some circular reasoning...but I didn't even get that...it was all evasion.
Man/Ape...in my defence, I claim only to be half man/half douchebag, 'cause I didn't mention their name.
Cricket...yeah that robe one is on the infidels site. I thought the scarlet/purple thing was a bit pedantic myself. But there are others which...well, honestly...they just don't stack up.
