Have you ever done direct sales? Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Mary Kay, etc?

Looking for success stories from folks who have experience in direct sales. Have you ever done direct sales with an at-home business like Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Creative Memories, Tastefully Simple or the like?

I'm curious about a few things:

*Up front costs for new consultants
*Profit margins (I know that some are 20% while others are 50%...but which are which?)
*Pushiness of uplines/directors
*Hidden costs (i.e. purchasing catalogs, websites, sales slips)...those little things that add up
*Avg time of a home party
*Monthly avg direct sales income (i.e. is it worth it?)
