have you ever bought a three gear internal hub bike for commuting? was it hard to go up

the hill? Does that mean that you only have three resistance levels to choose from? im looking at the specialized globe san francisco 09 and i love it. It has disc brakes and that Shimano IG3 internal rear hub which is baffling me. If you have ever ridden on one of these please compare the difficulty in going uphill with the internal hub than with a 21 speed deraillur
