Religious debates can get really heated, and it seems like both parties are so caught up with their own thoughts that they don't bother to consider what the other is saying.
I don't necessarily have debates, more like discussions--I am trying to gain knowledge from the other person and have a better understanding of their worldview.
I don't think we should live our lives trapping ourselves by only considering our own thoughts and ideas. With the help of other people's perspectives we can gain the ability to have a better understanding of religion.
We also have to keep in mind the concept that we have the potential to be wrong too. People need to learn to surrender their pride. Rarely do I see people admit that what they believe could be wrong, and what the other person is telling them is correct.
