Have you ever been in a religious debate, and admitted you were wrong?

Only once. It was about the Bible and racism. My friend pointed out the whole mixing-outside-blood-was-bad (pretty much the verses that were used to call interracial marriages an abomination) really referred to marriages between believers and non-believers. I haven't really gotten into a religious debate beyond that except to discuss possibilities depending on various interpretations.
 
Religious debates can get really heated, and it seems like both parties are so caught up with their own thoughts that they don't bother to consider what the other is saying.

I don't necessarily have debates, more like discussions--I am trying to gain knowledge from the other person and have a better understanding of their worldview.

I don't think we should live our lives trapping ourselves by only considering our own thoughts and ideas. With the help of other people's perspectives we can gain the ability to have a better understanding of religion.

We also have to keep in mind the concept that we have the potential to be wrong too. People need to learn to surrender their pride. Rarely do I see people admit that what they believe could be wrong, and what the other person is telling them is correct.
 
I don't lose in Debates. I only get into Debates that I have a chance at winning and have arguments for.

But If in the future I am wrong I'll gladly admit it.
