Have the "Haiku" writers on Answers ever read the Japanese Greats of the 16th Century?

Would be well if you did....5-7-5 is outdated, and, only the American equivalent of a structure that denies the true Japanese heritage of this format and syllabic content.
Click on 'Basho' for a start, then use the links given.....
If I ever would write a true, repeat>>>>>TRUE>>>>>Japanese Haiku, I would acknowledge the true form of poetry that was designed by the Greats of this form....OMG!
Where have these 'today writers of Haiku' ever gotten these misleading forms/syllabic content?
True Haiku does not have a cut-and-dried syllabic count.....the Haiku ends when the thought is complete!
I have read the Masters' count of syllables, as anywhere between 22, and 9.
It is the wording, Japanese language form, with little or no use of conjunctions, or adjectives, or denuncitive wording, such as 'the', 'only', etc
