Have i improved a lot or need to boost the effort?

Im in the army 11x till AIT where i can hopefully get 11b in july so i decided to get in shape. I was pretty lean already but still had those baby rolls and i height at 6'2 and than i was at 183 pounds.
Well to get in shape i first cut out soda completly and started working out and jogging which back than i couldnt even do a mile. Now i can do 4miles in 36mins which in 3 - 4 months i guess isnt bad. I know i need to drop my time down and i need to focus on speed runs and pull ups along with push ups. i can do only 5pull ups and i can do about 40 - 50 push ups with perfect form.
Anyone have any good scheduales they go by to get fit and maintain it? And i weigh at 168 now. :)
