have i had a reactoin to my hair dye ?

i used a hair dye on monday and on tuesday my cheeks went bright red and my face has been very dry ever since. it is just my face that it dry, my scalp doesn't hurt at all, and my face isn't swollen. at first i thought it was slap cheek syndrome as i never had it as a baby and a few years ago i got it and have had it a couple of times since even though it is something your only a meant to have once but it have never been this bad.
is it a reaction or is it just weird timing ?
so if it is a reaction is there anything i can do and is there any way of telling how long it will last ?
