1. Spike Speagel is the main character and plays the part of an extremely laid back, sarcastic, and very professional bounty hunter. He is not the main character for just any random reason, the whole Japanese anime series revolves around him. As the story plays out you begin to see how it actually starts to take a tole on him. In one episode he could be as happy as ever because everything has gone acording to plan, incontrast with the next episode in which he might be furious because he lost a chance of catching a villan or he might even look annoyed at some points because the day is slow and there is no one to catch or “bust”. Before working for the law he was excluded and betrayed by his former mob partner other wise known as his best friend and partner in crime Vicious. Vicious is the underboss of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate that Spike was formaly part of. Vicious is very skillfull with swords and guns because he will try to take over as leader of the mafia. Spike's life mission is to locate him using his bounty hunting skills and destroy him. Even though he is not the only bounty hunter in the world he and his team of bounty hunters are very good at what they do. Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Edward, and Ein all part of the same team but each have a lot to learn not only about them self, but also about the vast Milky way galaxy they courageously explore and defend aboard the “Bebop space ship”.
As we all know by now, Spike is involved in the bounty hunting busines. eventhough he is very lazy and pretty much careless of any and everything that dosent have to o with him or money. He takes his job very serious, he takes down bad guys and every now and then he helps a person who is in need. A perfect example would be when his fellow bounty hunter Fay was trying to catch some one who was wanted by the law, the man started to fight Fay back;He was getting away until Spike interfiered and both him and Fay had to share money they resived for turning him in, Fay really did not look happy. So as usual she goes and complaints to the computer wiz on the space ship, Edwerd. Edwerd is a 14 year old orphan girl who tags along with the bebop team, she thinks she'll find her family by traveling with Spike and his team. Moreover Spike does not really associate with Edwerd and Fay because Edwerd is a child and Fay is always trying to fight with Spike for money or food. He usualy is more on the conservetive side, hanging out and going on erins with Jet Black, the captain of the Bebop ship. Jet was an ex FBI agent and like Spike he was betraied by his best friend. Jet has a metal arm because of the betrail, he was shot and left to die on a mission, this is why Jet can relate to Spike and so they have been friends since the begging of Spikes bunty hunting carrier.
Spike Speagle is not a lonely man, in fact Spike is inlove with a woman who was also in the mafia with him, Spike had a plan to leave the mob and start a new life with Julia on a other planet. Unfortunately he was stoped by Vicious who repeatedly shot Spike leaving him wounded and unconsious for years. Vicious, thinking that Spike was dead whent on to try to marry Julia. Juluia was trying not to belive that Spike was dead so she ran away and desapired for years even after Spike woke up from the coma that he was in do to Vicious's attack. Spike is still tryning to find Julia because he knows that she is alive and that Vicious has not yet killed her. Through the story Spike makes clear that he is only pretty much living because he has to kill Vicious befor he gets to Julia, after he will retire and live with her, but we also learn that its not as easy as it sounds, both Vicious and Julian are the most hardest criminals to find.
