About 2 weeks while laying down in bed, as I started drifting to sleep my body would start to feel funny and then it would feel like I couldn't breathe. My chest started tightening, pulse racing, and my palms and feet sweating. I felt dizzy and my arms and legs felt so heavy. By the time 911 EMTs came out my breathing slowed and I would feel better.

Then last Friday night, the same thing happened. Again 911 took my pulse, checked my heart, blood pressure and said maybe anxiety. It has now been a week and this has been happening every day. I try and fall asleep then suddenly I am unable to breath properly. My body feels so tired but it is almost as if the part of my brain that is supposed to kick in for sleep is not cooperating. Like my mind and body are not synch. I am tired. I had anxiety attacks about 4 years ago but my symptoms were different and not daily like this.

Do these sound like anxiety symptoms or could there be something physically wrong with me and my body is reacting to it?

It definately sounRAB like a panic attack. I have had those exact same symptoms & I know just how scary they can be. HAve you had a full physical recently & had your thyroid taken? If its been over a year you may just want to get one done to put your mind at ease. But those symptoms are classic panic attack ones. Do some deep breathing & drink some cold water when you feel that come on. Mostly try to stay calm and rational. Tell yourself that You have had these symptoms before & were fine, and it will pass, even though it extremely uncomfortable. Hang in there & make sure you also lay off the caffeine. :)

I can so relate!
I myself have ended up in the er more than a couple times fir this!!
Its not funny at the time its going on, you do feel so afraid of dying!
Mine was mainly due to the wrong thyroid meRAB,i have had thyroid prblems for years, and the doc put me on gerneric, and thats when my hell began!
so, now iam on the right meRAB, and dosage, but evry now and then i still get a little panicky!
Take some deep breaths, try to calm yourself any way you can,to be at ease..
try to devert your mind from thinking about it..
sounRAB silly i know, but it does work,i get on the pc,sometimes all night, look up things of interest, sometimes i pace the floor until it passes, but it will pass!
ive been were you are, and i know all to well how it feels, and its not a good feeling at all!
just knowing iam not alone helps too!
If you have one in your area, a support group helps so much!
I dont have that, but i wish we did!
hang in there, get a physical, and talk to your doctor and see what can be done to help get some rest, and put your mind at ease!
take care!!!
