Have any of you mac users updated your phones yet (with your mac)?

I have a MacBook, but have yet to install Windows on it. Which method do you prefer, Parallels or Boot Camp? Assuming I can update a Nokia phone using either of those two programs, which one is easier to use?

Other than cell phone stuff, I have no real use for Windows so, if updating a phone's fw is not possible with an intel mac, I'm not going to bother installing XP.

Any other thoughts or advice? Thanks!

I am using a Macbook as well. Boot Camp ran the nokia updater flawlessly. Parallels, however is a different story. You can do stuff with your phone using the data transfer mode, but using the PC Suite and the updater is a no go due to USB issues in Parallels. Check out the Parallels forum for more info on it.

Very interesting...thank you for your input.

I haven't installed either yet, but I will run Boot Camp if it does the job. I have no preference towards one or the other, I just want something that works with as few problems as possible.

I also used Boot Camp. But my Windows is already compromised with viruses and stuff, so its almost time to say bye bye to Windows.

I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to connect the USB with parallels on my mac. I gave up and just used my bro's PC in the next room to update the firmware.

Updated my 6682's fw last night without a problem. This is awesome! I can't believe this worked. I was so prepared to fail for some reason. Stayed up until 5am, but oh well.

Thanks for the help and moral support, fellas.
