I just recently jumped on the smartphone bandwagon and got a Samsung i637 for free (Dad's old phone that he wasn't using any more). Originally, I was thinking about upgrading from my previous 'dumbphone' (it was an LG CF360) to a smartphone of my choosing, but not sure if it would still be worth it, now that I have the Samsun i637.
Basically I need help deciding which of these three phones to use: BB 9700, BB 8250, or Samsung i637. Cost is a bit of a factor for me, which is mainly why I'm considering keeping the Samsung. I also don't have a data plan and don't plan to get one, so either BB I buy will have to be unlocked (from what I saw, the 9700 is ~$450 and the 8250 is ~$280).
I will be using the phone mainly for calls, texts, and music playback. Occasionally will use the camera, as well. The first thing I noticed when upgrading from the 'dumbphone' was how laggy smartphones can sometimes be. It's not terrible, but compared to 'dumbphones', it's definitely noticeable. I've never extensively used a BB, but they seem like they are among the best at providing a quick and snappy OS, which is really important to me.
