have a question on a 05 ford focus automatic tranny?

i was driving down the highway and all at once i heard a weird noise comming from the passanger side floor board kinda a grinding noise like metal on metal . took it home and jacked the front up i put it in gear and let it spin the wheels and makes the noise .when i go from drive to 2nd or first it makes a clunk noise sounds like from the tranny but only when the tires are off the ground i have all gears and the gears aint slipping any help would be appreciated
