Have a 85 chevy s10 2.5 liter4banger bad idle wont start sometimes?

replaced fuel filter, electric module pulg wires and plugs, pcv valve the engine ran for a week and then start and stop ... checked the air intake pinion last week reset it to less then 1 1/8 of a inch. checked it yesterday and over 1/18 of a inch.... reset it to1/8th and ran and then stoped reset it today and the same thing 1 2/8 of an inch .... the unit is brand new got it last week any other ideas or problems with any sensors or vacume that would cause that problem or others???? gets not enough gas and then too much gas... changed the fuel injector ??? can u help me please
