if the shifter is stuck in park it can mean a couple of different things, first there is a solenoid that prevents the shifter from moving without the brake pedal being pressed( sometimes the solenoid sticks, or the brake pedal switch goes bad and will not disengage the solenoid lock, so the shifter wont move....put your hand on the shifter and press the brake pedal, you should feel a slight click, if this is happening,but it still wont come out of gear you may have something stuck in the shifter(loose change or a spilled soda can sometimes get in the assembly and cause it to bind. BTW, an easy way to tellif your brakelamp switch is bad is if your brakelights stay on without pressing the pedal,hopefully this is helpful to you, have a good day.
