Have 2 homes in 2 different states.?

1 home I have in Massachusetts is a 2 family. Mortgage is really high.
I also own a single family home in Florida which I am moving to next year. It will be my primary residence.

Will I be able to short sale my home in Mass without it effecting my home in Florida?
