Monday 16th November, twenty to seven in the morning, doing my paper round on a bike... hit by a van. It was only doing thirty miles an hour but my head smashed his windscreen, the front of the van and my back wheel were dented, I got several scrape (m knee is now one big scar) and my helmet was cracked to pieces... BUT it saved my life.
Also, has this ever led to your school etc raising safety awareness? Like in mine we got an assembly on it (with my helmet as the example) and six days where if you wore your helmet when you biked to school you got a free breakfast.
Genuinely interested because like most teenagers I hated wearing mine and wasn't too bothered about crossing roads properly but I learned the hard way so... anyone?
