Hello, first post..

I have two discs that are gone and one that is almost gone. I was rear ended 5 weeks ago and this has made all worse, I was functional till then, now it is a chore. Is there something new, I am not wanting to get fused and there is no room for disc replacement.

Getting it done the 27th. After reading all the posts I figured I better find something different. It was approved in March

so if you are bone on bone they can still do this? This would be very encouraging.

Thanks

If you are bone on bone then a fusion will occur naturally if nothing is done, and this may not be the best for you. You want to be sure to get a surgeon to stabilize the area. If an Artificial Disc is not an option then a fusion with cages is likely.

Thank you, I have some hope now. I an doing what reading I can, any info would be appreciated, name of procedure, where to find docs that have gotten certified, anything.

Thank you very much.

I have had one level fuse together naturally. What was bad about that was the nerves coming out from the side "foraminal nerves" L3-L4 were being crushed so I had a surgery that cut the bone around the nerves to give it space. Not fun at all. That is why this time I agreed to the fusion. I just hope it works out well.
