The 21st Century is the century of freedom. Every year, more laws are being dropped and enforcement is lax. We are allowed to carry out lots of practices and do whatever we wish. If we wore crop tops and miniskirts 50 years ago, they would consider it rude. If we were homosexuals 100 years ago, they'd have us killed. If we encouraged prostitution 100 years ago publicly, we'd be executed. Now I've noticed the Netherlands is probably in my opinion the most free country on earth. They have a district in Amsterdam dedicated to sex, prostitution and erotica. More and more gay bars and clubs are being opened in Amsterdam, with even Gay churches... They publicly sell marijuana and legalise its use... Euthanasia (assisted suicide) is now legal, yet murder isn't... Incest is legal in the Netherlands since 200 years ago... They direct anti-Islamic hate films and preach anti-Islamic ideology across their nation... They are in support of considering anti-immigration laws in their country... Homosexuality and lesbianism is legalised and being supported... Now I think that Holland, 'Land of the Windmills and Tulips' has lost it's innocent touch and culture. It is rich in art and history, so why did they ruin it? I'm not an extremist homophobe, but is homosexuality ethical? Now all these reasons I've listed, I want to know you're opinion - Has the Netherlands lost its morals?Tell me your thoughts people! You can criticize me, but just don't add hate comments. Thanks guys.BEST ANSWER: Fully informative, opinionated, no hate or racism etc, and needs back up evidence to support.I have been 3 times actually, twice to Amsterdam and once to Eindhoven. I don't actually hate the Dutch, Im just saying there are those people there.. I love Holland, but there are people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Gert Wilders, Theo Van Gogh, Charlie Geerts, Pim Fortuyn, these people are screwing up your country I believe.lol Bla Bla, yes I admit I was lying on my other questions :D But thats only to gain best answer. And you do make a fair point, there are other issues at home, but Im just saying that ive noticed over the years the netherlands is going downhill. And for the real truth, im actually a 15 year old british-jordanian male who is interested in world affairs.

Great answer from "M" - and I am not going to feed you either, suffice to say, get up off the sofa, visit, talk to people first hand and then (and only then) make conclusions about what is going on here.... and if you really are a Brit, then I would suggest you try to understand & consider the issues faced closer to home (there are more than enough to worry about) as well as worry about us here in the Netherlands. Thanks anyway though.P.S. - if you are going to tell fibs, do try to be consistenthttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjE85_92NaQ_yRGh7ORfqeHty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081231105747AAIXyjM- you were 15 years old two weeks ago and 14.5, three days ago http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj3.eUA3xbzg9rP0OjgAamPty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090113130258AAD9fZEEDIT - it just gets better.... a gynecologist one minute http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuPQv8R7Dhdwwx82MBv2BR3ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090102071506AAXmPAn&show=7#profile-info-gw0Qs6Qkaa and a geneologist the next minute http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnseTAtDcXjQUNyTkv_wb5vty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090102072827AAsfNz0&show=7#profile-info-0NXdjyo2aa.... and still only 14.5.... congratulations young man! I rest my case.

Provide proof incest is legal - for it is not. Source : Dutch law.The red light district is being discussed, some (leftwing and christian) parties in the goverment want to get rid of it.Marijana is NOT legalised and will not be. On the contrary, they are trying to use ANY excuse to close down coffeeshops.Homosexuality is ethical, if between two consenting adults. Their choice, not yours, not mine. Source : Dutch law.Euthanasia is technically not legal - but if certain very strict guidelines are followed, prosecution is dropped usually. As to immigration laws - they are there already. They are discussing how best to enforce them. This due to the expanding of the EU and the people from other EU countries coming this way, not as tourists, but with intent to do crime (mostly eastern european countries). Source : any newspaper, and the CBS.However, most left wing parties are adopting a more or less 'ban the gay' stance, due to their overprotecting of certain groups that are strictly anti gay (and have in their originating countries even laws that provide for the execution of homosexual people)But - you ask, has The Netherlands lost its morals? Not yet, but they are getting close to. Selling out to certain groups, and tolerating hate by those groups is not helping cement decent morals here.(why do you keep harping about homosexuals btw?)
