Has the BBC dug themselves into a deeper hole over the Ross Brand fiasco?

This Morning on Breakfast news they announced a discussion on the smutty phone calls of Ross and Brand. I left for work before the discussion but I was astonished that one of the contributors to the discussion was to be Kelvin McKenzie.
You may be aware that McKenzie was the editor of the Sun newspaper when it published the offensive and erroneous slurs against Liverpool fans after the Hillsborough disaster.
Has the BBC lost its mind, having someone as odious and immoral as McKenzie discussing the morals of the Ross/ Brand case?

I certainly agree with you that Mckenzie was a dubious choice for the discussion,
This whole thing should have been nipped in the bud. Jonathon Ross is experienced enough to know that this was breaching the guidelines of decency and as a parent of girls himself should have more sensibility.
I think the core of the problem is that most of the production teams in TV & Radio are now headed but such young people. It is not a sin to be young, but it is a sin to let these decisions be made by those without out the experience and foresight of seasoned professionals.
The obvious buck stops with the producer, but in essence the fault weighs with those that gave such a responsibility to young shoulders.

I have worked several times with Jonathon Ross and he is a good man. But any artist needs a director or producer behind them that can reign them in when necessary. This a part of the job and one which was obviously beyond the limitations of the team he was working with.

If this had been handled properly and dealt with at source we would not be discussing it now.

The BBC is just one gigantic hole of sh*t anyway, I don't think they can stoop any lower, letting a pair of mediocre (if that) comedians insult an old man & his family & allowing an idiot like McKenzie his two pennies worth. I really resent paying my licence fee!

To all those who complained about Russel Brand--get a life you sad basterds! War. Homeless people, Financial meltdown and a third of the world starving! A few more things for you to complain about here. Does it make you feel good to pretend you are morally superior by complaining how coarse Russel is? Go back to your reality TV shows and no-talent karaoke X factors you pathetic excuses for humanity Its morons like you who are responsible for the success of celebrity culture that puts so much value on everything they say in the first place.
P.S. I slept with the dead queen mother and stuck it up her back doors=suck on that!

It was a pre recorded show and the BBC were stupid to show it.
Its been over hyped in my opinion - but it does take your mind off the Credit crunch!!
You should e mail news 24 with the above comment - it will be on tv by the end of the day.

They also had Tim Shaw on who is quite plainly a Ross/Brand wannabe. His basic argument was that it was comedy and comedy is meant to be offensive and awkward. His argument was also that the granddaughter of Andrew Sachs should be up for abuse being in a dance troupe. How pathetic. No matter what you do, your grandfather should never be abused about it.
