This may sound strange but I wonder what effects humans oppressing other humans has on evolution. The specific point I have relates to the oppression of gay males. Gay males have been oppressed literally for millenium in some cultures. Because of this oppression, many or even a majority of gay males have conformed to society and taken wives and produced offspring. These offspring obviously carry some of the traits of their fathers. (One trait could be related to height) Had these males been accepted and given freedom to live as they choose they would not have mated at all. Their DNA would not have entered the world pool of human DNA. So, my point is that by oppressing others and forcing conformity, humans have actually added DNA traits which would not have continued on. Oppression has effects on a large scale in my opinion so the effects probably would be well spread throughout society.
What do you think of this idea?
As for homosexuality being carried in DNA. I don't know about that but it may be possible. I personally believe that no traits are 100%. That is that a gay person may be X percent gay and the same goes for a straight person. All I am saying is that some traits of genetically 'gay' members of society in the past were saved while given the natural choices of those individuals they probably would have been lost forever.
To be honest, I don't know too much about DNA. I just had this idea which came to me and I wanted to get some feedback on it. I can't argue it well here as this is just for limited responses.
I don't believe that all homosexuality is genetic. People choose lots of different lifestyles. But I do believe that some people definitely do carry traits that collectively we see as homosexual. We are not 100% male or female in both our physiques and personalities. We could go a lot further categorizing ourselves if we chose to.
