Guess a lot of people above me who answered did not read the source article or have keep up with other NASCAR fiscal news (may be they can't read) but fats are facts NASCAR may not have enough competitive cars to field a full Field next year. Chevron is gone after 21 years (Havoline Oil) GM is greatly reducing it's funding, and even the great JR does not have a sponsor for his nationwide car and NASCAR is having trouble getting backers to back races ( GM is pulling its backing on three races) NASCAR has hit the wall and better hope its crash barriers hold through this crisis other wise it's history as we know it
 
Answer: NO. It's OK if you want to be a NASCAR fan, you don't have to hide in the "closet" of id's and "off" questions. As a "real" fan, we would welcome you and help you learn more about this great sport.

I agree Get Real. NACAR has brought this own themselves by favoring the 88 and 48 this whole time. The difference is that the 48 can take the advantages NASCAR gives him and win, but the 88 can't. That speaks volumes for the direction NASCAR is heading.

to the guy below me: i don't need to read anything to know that we are in a deepening reccession, that's not news pal, we're all perfectly aware. and of course, like every other industry and part of society, our country's economic woes will certainly affect NASCAR, in terms of sponsorships, manufacturer support, ect. DUH, you're not telling us anything we don't already know. but if you know your history you'll know that our economy also went through a deep recession and oil crisis in the early 1970s. it was so bad at that time that that you could only buy gas on even or odd dates, depending on wether the last digit on your licence plate was an even or odd #. (there were no such things as vanity plates back then) and what's more, NASCAR was no where near as big and popular then as it is today, it was just a nitch southern sport with no live TV coverage. but guess what? NASCAR survived and then it thrived. so times will be tough for NASCAR, sure, just like they will be for every other aspect of society. there may be some races with 36 cars instead of 43, and some 500 mile races reduced to 400. but that's ok, NASCAR will be fine in the end. the bottom line is, the asker is a pain in the @ss troll who hates NASCAR (look closely at his avator for pete's sake) and is always on here asking stupid questions about how NASCAR is in trouble.
