Has last years dreadful season carried over to 2011/12?

if the chelsea game had a spanish referee then, with all the holding in the box and the 2 clear penalty shouts, i think at least one would have been given,

because they are less afriad to make big decisions,
so that game would have ended up with goals

and so would the newcastle game.

so i think we rob are selfs of highscoring games sometimes,
with the refs trying to be less hot headed
