It has not been discontinued as of yet. However, what has happened is that sales for Hummer this year are down 66%. GM has announced that the Hummer brand is in review. GM is trying to decide which direction to take with the division. The options they announced are:
1) Sell the division if someone will buy it
2) Change the division to be more economical
3) Dissolve the division and cease operations
The media has said that option 1 is out since no one in their right mind would buy the division. Option 2 is costly, and may not be worth the effort. Option 3 is highly likely.
So although Hummer is not dead yet, there is a 50-50 chance at this point it may go away after this review period. The other option is to cancel all current models and develop more fuel efficent ones.
So your Hummer is still supported and worth something, but don't count on that for the long term.
