into a Uni course? universities in NSW differ from each uni to uni. Some like Sydney Uni allow up to 5 UAI points when you apply for elite sportsman/sportswomen leniency. Eg. when you believe your training has dissapointed your application to your HSC the Uni can accept you despite you being below the official cut-off.
Has anybody got into a course by doing so and as what kind of sportsperson? I'm a surfboat rower acheiving at state and national levels and a rugby and league player at club and slight representative level.

I had a friend who was a national rower and waterpolo player. She got bonus points (although I never found out how many) for sydney uni. Basically she just highlighted her achievements and talked a lot about how she wanted to represent the uni. That's what they want. It's no good if you're this amazing surfboat rower but decide not to do it at uni. They want you to be making them look better as a uni. She also got accepted into St Andrews College (a college on campus at uni) because of it, with a scholarship or something. But she also got a uai of 97 and is doing combined law so...
