I have lurabar stenosis and cervical stenosis, causing pain and tingling down my leg and in my hip and down my left arm and in my neck. Some days are better than others, but mostly the pain can be handled by taking motrin and some days I can even skip it. I am wondering if anyone has tried using accupuncture for help with the pain cause by spinal stenosis. I am going to an Integrative clinic soon to look into natural ways to handle my pain. I am trying to postpone surgery as long as possible but am worried about taking so much motrin. Have been a bit afraid of trying a chiropractor thinking they may make me worse. Any input would be great. I am in Colurabus, Ohio, if anyone reading knows of a good chiropractor or surgeon to go to please let me know. (the surgeon would be for future reference) Thanks, Connie

I hope someone can refer you to a good surgeon in case you go that route.

I have stenosis, DDD, osteo, bulging discs etc. in lurabar and cervical spine and other areas, but surgery is not an option for me until paralysis is iminent. I have not found an effective pain management as I cannot tolerate the side effects. So on a day like today, when the arthritis in my jaw is making the whole thing unbearable in those nerves, and the S1-L is screaming and I can't bend over to put my shoes on, for the first time in months I pop a couple of Tylenol arthritis...and..nothing. Anyway, enough about me.

I have heard some good success with acupuncture, but find a good one who is trained the Eastern medicine way and not north american. I chose the latter and was told that is why I ended up with a flaming inflamation. ouch. So I am now apprehensive about it but thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

If Motrin works for you and no side effects after this long, I wouldn't hesitate to take it, if I were you. It sounRAB like you only take it when you need it so maybe your body won't get used to it.

You can also try deep tissue massage or cranial sacral therapy for some temporary relief. Chiropractors are not recommended for cervical spine problems as it's too easy to cause injury there.

I have been taking Turmeric and Bromolaine for inflammation and it seems to help a bit unless weather or sitting too much, or breathing...sets it off again. Everybody is different so like meRAB., natural route can be trial and error.

Hope to have been of some insight,
choc
