i'm not able to be very objective about my own work in terms of pricing it or actively marketing myself as an artist. i do commission work when people approach me, and do sell my paintings from time to time, but do not show in any galleries at the moment. i have shown in a few small galleries to very modest sales, which i wasn't really a part of.
i don't know if there is such a thing as a seller's agent that would represent an artist to larger, metropolitian galleries or art buyers for corporations. the art world seems to be very difficult to break into for an 'outsider' so to speak, so i would really like to cultivate a relationship with someone who already has those connections.
just wondering what other people have done, and if anything was successful. my work is contemporary/surreal but most of the commissions i've done have been dogs. go figure.
