i have this homework assignment and don't have time to read at the moment. i have two midterms tomorrow that i need to study for and this ridiculous homework assignment that i didn't even know we had until about 10 minutes ago. On top of that I am sick as hell with a cold and feel terrible. If someone has read this book recently and can answer these questions you would be a life saver. I'll give you 10 points automatically, if i could give more I would. I realize that there are like five questions with each question...my teacher really sucks.
1.What are the Geneva Conventions? What is the Nuremberg Defence? What does Westmoreland assert about US troops indoctrination in Geneva conventions, rules of engagement, treatment of non-combatants, and war crime? How well were My Lai participants actually trained?
2.What was the military situation in Quang Ngai Province? How might this have contributed to the atrocity at My Lai? How did Bernhardt, Calley, and Roberts explain the atrocities?
3.From the testimony to the Peers Commission, what are some contradictory interpretations of the pre-operations briefings given before the attack? Name the person who gave the testimony you refer to (pp. 59-74).
4.What were some major incidents during the assault at My Lai?
5.According to the Geneva Conventions and taking the “Nuremberg Defense” into account, are those troops who obeyed Calley’s orders guilty of war crimes? Why or why not? Are the soldiers who refused to obey Calley, but did not participate in the atrocities, guilty as accomplices? Why or why not? Are those soldiers who participated in mercy killings guilty of war crimes? Why or why not?
if you haven't read the book please don't waste your time or mine..thanks
