...think of it. To me, Gore Vidal has written the latter 20th century's finest historical fiction and Lincoln is the finest work of his. What I would be really interested to know is : has anyone read Goodwin's "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln". I think it is a fine history book of the civil war and the man who led us into it and brought us out of it whole. Has anyone read both and how does the novel stack up to the History book?
