...Catholics? Even the Onion (a spoof site) was cited as source of a news article to make it appear that the pope was asking only for a reduction of child abuse to a more acceptable level. See this question:

And look at the answers and see that some people were gullible enough to accept the report as legitimate news.
I actually got a violation notice for pointing this out in my answer. This was my answer that was deleted:
Wow! Anti-Catholics now also use the Onion as their source in attacking the Church. And some people actually believe that the Onion is a credible source.
