Has anyone here ever hitchhiked?

I'm planning on setting out tomorrow and was thinking of doing this. I've had a few friends who have too. Anyone have any experiences?
I definitely know it can be dangerous...but just even walking down the street in a neighborhood something can happen to.
 
I haven't, but I did hear about a guy who picked up hitchhikers and brutally raped and murdered them. Happy travels! :D
 
I've picked up a hitchhiker in my mom's car once who ended up taking weed out of her pocket and smoking it. It was all good though she shared the joint with me and my best friend and we dropped her off at a gas station.
