Has anyone had to have infertility tests done?

I was on the depo shot for 7 years and stopped in july 08 would have been my last shot. Period resumed in November 08. We have been trying to conceive since December and nothing so far. I have always had a gut feeling that ive been infertile even 3 years before i got off the shot. & that i was going to have twins- runs in my family. I know this is going to sound crazy but ive went to a psychic 3 times already and all 3 times she was 100% right about my life and she told me without me saying a word that she seen me wanting a baby boy and it was going to be twin girls and she seen me having to take pills to get pregnant & it would be in fall. That was back in February and now Im wondering if i should go to the doctor or wait? What procedures are done to test if your infertile? I know nothing about infertility!!! please help!! Thanks alot!!!
 
Well, without knowing your age....if you are younger, most doctors tell you to seek treatment if you haven't become pg after 1 year of trying. If you are older, then 6 months of trying.

Statistically speaking, the chances of getting pregnant for "normal" couples is 20% each month.

I did have to go through fertility treatments. I would recommend if/when you pursue to go see a RE (reproductive endocrinologist). You will have an initial consultation & complete exam including various blood tests on certain days of your cycle. Depending on your bloodwork results, you will also probably need to have a few internal tests done (SIS - saline infused sonogram and HSG hysterosalpingogram) to check for fibroids and blockages in your fallopian tubes. Male partner would also more than likely need a semen analysis.
 
go to the doctor! you might as well, if there is something wrong, the doctor can start working with you now to help you get pregnant!
i had infertility tests - they had my husband give a semen sample and they did a sperm analysis to make sure he didn't have low sperm count or anything like that. then for me, they did blood work to look at my hormones and they did an ultra sound of my ovaries. they determined that i was not ovulating so they put me on Clomid to make me ovulate. i was on it for 3 months then got pregnant. good luck to you!
