Hi,

Has anyone had TCA peels?? few questions
1. How many did you have?
2. How much did they cost??
3. Did you experience any negative effects (permanent discoloration etc)?
4. How long to recover, or what happened following treatment and for how long?
5. Did it help with discoloration, shallow acne scars, large pores, over all skin tone?

Thanks!

I personly have'nt tried them but you can buy a 2 oz bottle of it online for 130 dollors. It will last 20-30 peels vs goining to the derm and paying 250 for one treatment. They should be very affective tho, they are the most expensive peel you can buy.. well almost.

I am sure you can perform them your self. Doctors are greedy *******s, they over charge for there serveses. All your paying for at the docotrs office is his 500,000 dollor house loan and 100,000 dollor car loan thats it. The peel it self is not that much. Do you realize that you dont even need to be a doctor to operate a laser in new york? All you need is a few thousand dollors and you can get the training to operate a laser. Just read the directions for the tca chemical peel kit that comes with it and you will be fine. There is NO special requrment to perform a chemical peel on yourself.

My daughter-in-law used the TCA peel from PerfectComplexion. She only put it where she was developing wrinkles on her forehead and crows feet. Yes it did burn her skin, and yes it was rather unsightly for three or four days, but then it all peeled off and softened all the wrinkles. She is VERY pleased with it.

On the other hand, I have paid a lot of money to get several peels by my dermatologist and I am not all that impressed with the results. I am a big believer in self-treatment (I think we pay doctors way too much $ to do things that we could do ourselves), so I ordered this stuff and as soon as I can take a couple of days off work I plan to use it. Specifically, I want to soften my crows feet, treat a little acne scarring that I have, soften other wrinkles, and fade or eliminate a few dark spots from the sun (sun damage).

The one BIG caution about these peels is that you MUST stay out of the sun after you do it, or you can get PERMANENTLY DARKENED spots on your skin. Actually if you use any product that peels the skin, you need to stay out of the sun all that you can, and use a good sunscreen when you must be in the sun (and wear a hat!).

I'll post back with the results once I've done the peel.

I was thinking about getting some TCA peels also.
"acnePro", you better be careful with the TCA peel you can buy online. Your only supposed to buy it if you have a license and know what your doing. I would bet that there

I have also used Julie's perfectcomplexion TCA peel and nothing happened! Perhaps I didn't apply enough solution on my face but I followed her instructions perfectly and I had a lot of dry skin but no peeling whatsoever. I tried it again and same thing - nothing.

I paid close to $200 for a vitalize peel from SkinMedica and that worked really well.

hi sahuja. i had my tca peel on last wed, and follow by the second night for a deeper peel. then i stop, today is sunday and my skin peeled alot. i have to wait few days more before i use the micro crystals to smooth my skin. i can see red marks fading, pitted scars improved and good complexion!~ maybe better yet to come!~ wait for me!~ but before u start tca peel, please do a search. it might just burn your face.

1. I had one TCA peel done, and I believe it was 30%, maybe 40%, I don't quite remeraber.

2. It cost me $250.

3. Not at all. I had it done 2 years ago.

4. Recovery took awhile because the strength was so strong; it took 3 weeks for my skin to regain normalcy. Following treatment, I made it a point to stay out the sun, and continue to moisturize religiously.

5. It helped with discoloration, overall skin-tone, and milia (those little whitehead/white bumps). I used to have a problem with milia on my chin. A lot of use mistake that for acne, but it's not.

Would I do it again? No. There's too much downtime associated with it, BUT it is very effective. Plus, I hated the idea of having to put vaseline on my face constantly, and looking like I had a terrible sunburn. In short, it basically does in two-three weeks, what it takes retin-a micro to do in "x" amount of months. Let me forewarn you that, it is very easy to do damage to your skin, if you don't treat it properly. That means absolutely no premature peeling. Not only will you disturb the healing process, but you might actually take a chunk of your skin off, depending on the strength of the solution.
