i had very very mild acne through high school, nothing a lil neutrgena couldnt fix, and I recently began to take the bf ortho try-cylen and my skin kinda spazzed,my doctor swithed me to alesse and I've began using retin-a, should I consider taking yasmin, and has anyone had any expereince wiht retin-a????!!!!

Starting a new bcp can cause acne. It will take ~3 months for your hormones to normalize, and you may experience acne during that time. Likewise, Retin-A almost always causes an initial breakout. Please read the instruction pamphlet that came with the tube-- it should state that it will take 8-12 weeks to be effective. I'd suggest waiting 3-4 months with these new medications before switching to something else. Additionally, I'd ask for an antibiotic (like Minocycline) to get you through this rough period. Good luck!

thanks, im on an antibiotic actually, i actually think im starting to heal, my blemishes are much flatter and two have come to a head. thanks for the info :D
