The gas gauge stopped working so I ran the car till it was out of gas. I refilled the tank but now the car will not stay on and when I do get it on I have to hold the pedal so it will stay running long enough for me to get to the next stop sign and so on till I got home. I'm thinking that maybe there was some debris on the bottom of the tank and that when I ran it dry it got sucked into the fuel line but i'm wanting a second opinion on the matter before I move forward. Any other suggestions?
Has anyone had issues with the fuel system on the 1989 Pontiac Firebird?
