Has anyone had a while lipped asp bite their dog?

Our dog had a slight swelling on one side of her snout last night. We thought it was a bee sting as couldn't find anything else. She has recovered quickly from bee stings previously. We took her to the vet as she now has a suppurating sore on the outside of her snout.

We have white lipped asps in the garden now and then. (Small brownish green snake about 500 mm long with a distinct white line around the lip - they are toxic but not deadly).

After discussion, the vet and us thought it may be an asp bite. The vet gave her an anti-histamine and antibiotics after a very good examination. The swelling has not gone down - four hours later.

Our dog has finally eaten some food so she must be feeling better, although she still looks like she has mumps on one side of her face.

Anyone been through this? We live in NSW, Australia.
