My 8 yr old son was prescribed this medication for a recent diagnosis of lyme disease. He has been taking 200mg a day for approx 3 weeks. His behavior and mood swings have been horrible and unbearable..to the point tonight that he literally brought me to tears. Ive never seen my son act like this. He has gotten in trouble in school 3 times since taking it and the school bus. He is defiant and moody at home. I ask him what is wrong he says he doesnt know..as Im sitting here thinking tonight I realize I should look up this medication. I have read countless posts from people who say they were severely depressed and moody on this medication. What do I do? I am really stuck right now and feel like a horrible mother for disciplining him when I dont think it was his fault.
