Has anyone every used clairol professional born blonde?

I am trying to get the red and orange out of my hair. I have already tried to highlight it and strip it, but I can't afford to keep having it done at a salon. I went to Sally Beauty supply and saw this product. SHould I try to use it or should I just use a blonde dye with a blue base?
