has anyone ever used foam underlayment under laminate with a pre attached pad?

You would be better off with the lauan than the extra padding. However if the floor isn't perfect it still won't be perfect even with the lauan. You would have to screw the lauan down in a bunch of spots. I would use liquid nails all over the back of it and attach to the floor with screws every 12".
Seems like it would just be easier to lay the floor the way it is.

I am putting down 8mm Laminate flooring with a pre-attached 3mm foam padding. My subfloor is not perfect, but not terrible. Just a few spots with height differences, but just to be safe I want to put down either a padding or a 1/4 lauan plywood to help even it out. Should I just lay the floor on my old floor and stop worrying, use the 1/8" foam padding and ignore the Warranty and stores suggestions, or lay the 1/4 Lauan plywood? Any other suggestions would help! Thank you
