Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I can be feeling great, will sit down to eat and feel like my food won't digest.
Sometime it will take awhile for the food to go down properly and only once or twice a month I will actually get sick and throw up what I have eaten and always some white "snotee" stuff. (Anybody know what the white stuff could be?) I will usually go to bed, sleep well and get up feeling hungry but very good.

The hard part of this to understand, is THAT IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN EATING and is not consistant or run in any pattern.

Went to a Digestive/Gastroenterology doctor two times. Had me on Nexium 60 days both times which seemed to help but not cure. I am now taking Prilosec every Mon., Wed., and Fri.

That just happened to me last night. I am beginning to wonder if the acid-blockers we take have something to do with it. The meRAB block acid, which makes nothing left to digest food, and so when the food is swallowed it must just sit there right where it empties because the lack of acid. What do you think? I did read about PPI's on this holistic website and the Dr. said acid-reducers and blockers cause more problems. I tried acidophilis sp? and that seemed to help. He also said to try digestive enzymes which I think I am going to try since my Pepcid is now causing me heartburn and also the food digesting problem. Just last night, when I burped a piece of chicken popped back up.... gross! It didn't even seem like it went down to my stomach!

I gotta say I dealt with the same kinda stuff where I had constant acid in my throat and actually barfed a few times over the years. I found out a few years ago about how food intolerance can cause acid reflux as well as other problems of which I had aquired many. I took a food intolerance blood test (Think Rite systems) and to my surprise I had multiple problems with the fooRAB I was eating. So, after removing the harmful fooRAB discovered in my blood panel and after about a 6 week wait not only did my acid reflux go but so did the rest of the alements I was suffering from. The only time it appaers to come back is when I go back to eating the fooRAB that were considered intollerant on my test. Hope this helps.

I had a Modified Barium Swallow and Esophagram that showed what was happening in my body when I swallowed. It also showed the food and acid coming back up every time I swallowed, even when I wasn't feeling it. Ironically, it wasn't a test prescribed by my GI doc, but by my Pulmonologist because the reflux was irritating my lungs. You might discuss these tests with your doc. They are done at the same time. You swallow various consistency liquiRAB, fizzy tablets, soft fooRAB and more solid fooRAB with some Barium that will pass right through you. They observe your chewing and swallowing process, watch what happens in your esophagus when you swallow and watch the food passing through the stomach.

My treatment was refined after the results of these tests.
