Has anyone else had a problem with Lenscrafters doing a bait-and-switch with their

frames? Within the last couple of years I've had to start wearing eyeglasses, and I recently went to Lenscrafters to order a new pair. The first thing I noticed was the outrageous cost. Even picking relatively cheap frames and getting a 30% discount, the glasses were over five hundred dollars a pair.

Whatever, though. Mine have to have a few bells and whistles added in because of the eye problems I have. It also means they take a long time to make, though, so I asked them to order a second identical pair at the same time.

Two weeks roll by, and they call to let me know my glasses are in. I go down, they hand me the glasses and I sit down to try them on, and then immediately yank them off my face because they are instantly excruciating to wear. I try the other pair on, and same thing.

I put a pair on and picked up the mirror to examine the glasses closely. They aren't even close to fitting my head right. I could literally pinch my fingers together in the space between the stalks and the temple right in front of my ears, the latter of which were being pushed way out of shape, they dug into my skull behind my ears, and the glasses literally bounced off my nose every time I blinked.

There is no way on God's green Earth they were the glasses I ordered. Yet, no matter how much I argued these simply weren't the right glasses, and I never would have ordered anything that ill fitting or painful to wear, the sales associate just kept insisting those were exactly the right glasses, that they fit the way they were designed to fit, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Of course, I will be getting my money back and finding a more reputable place to have my new glasses made, but I was just curious if I am the only person who's had an experience like this with them, or if this is something they regularly try to get away with?
