I have a 2001 Mazda 626 and it seems like I have been putting a lot of money into it the last year. Last year, this time, I replaced a catalytic converter in it. Now, last month, I put in a new transmission because the rear end was going out. I was told by a few different people that it would be cheaper to replace the transmission than to have rear end work done. Because they are made together in that car. Now, a month later, I am having to replace a second catalytic converter. This stinks! I dont' have the money to keep fixing the car, but I can't afford to go out and get a new(er) car either. Has anyone else had a lot of problems with this model car? I realize it is 7 years old and has a lot of miles on it. (150,000)
