I drove from 1950 to 2000 with sticks shift car. In 2000 I bought a 2000 Honda Odyssey. It was heaven, no more d... shifting between the seats. In the '90s my wife got a Nissan Quest. It is still driving well and she loves it. We went to look at new cars and found most have gone back to horse and buggy shifting between the seats with old fashion push and pull and zigzagging gear shifting.
All of our driving controls are on steering column or wheel and read-outs are right in front of us.
"All" people we have talked to love all driving controls in front of them and don't want to even think about buying a car with cumbersome stick shifting between the seats. We all pray the industry goes back to what we and others call "21st Century" gear shifting. My 2000 Odyssey is running fine. I pray I can get another car with this great shifting equipment.
